Verified Reviewer | Albany, New YorkInappropriate behavior by an associate
I visited the store on Washington Avenue Albany N.Y . yesterday .
While I was there I was looking at a recliner for sale . I did not purchase it with my choices yesterday but still wanted it today . I Left my home knowing the store would only be open until 7:00 pm . I arrived approximately 20 min to the hour .
An associate was standing out front and told me there were too many people in line checking out ( not too many people in store ) and would not let me enter . I began to look in the window disappointed I was not allowed in . The associate then told me I could not look in the window . That is what made me very angry .
What is your protocol ? Is your store open until 7:00 or do you stop allowing shoppers 20 minutes before the closing hour . At first I was asking if I could just put my name on the piece to save it until the next business day . But after the associates awful customer
service and behavior towards me Im feeling that I dont want to go back to your store .
I have worked in customer service industry and am a business owner myself . This gentleman ( and Im using this term very loosely) should definitely not be an example for your store front !
I believe he had some personal interest in his actions and wanted the customers out by 7:00 pm so he could lock up and leave . Seems to me with these uncertain times you should not be discouraging business .
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
User's recommendation: Very dissatisfied!
Needed to ask about replacing my credit card, neither of the 2 options fit my question
Preferred solution: Issue me a card to replace the one I had
I did not get a refund applied to my card.
Dress Code
Being reprimanded For wearing a sleeveless blouse on, when others are able to show their stomach with short shirts and blouses.
Being abused for your foreign accent.
managers don't care to understand you when you're from another country, but speak English with a foreign accent.
Store managers too lazy to help out with stocking shelves or helping you with picking up large items for customers.
At store closing time, All store ssociates are required to stand at exit door until all the associates have had their personal bags checked, and listen to speeches made by store manager off the clock, and not insured for any physical injury that could come about. each and every night before leaving the store
Some associates are giving preferential treatment by managers and promoted ahead of associates that have worked for many years at the store, causing low morale for the other employees.
Wages are poor for associates that have worked at the store for long periods of time. Part-timers receive almost the same pay because the minimum wage law has gone up.
Full-time associates do not receive wage increases when the minimum wage goes up
For the most part Marshalls is a dead-end job for sales associates without college degrees.
Preferred solution: Increase the wages of full-time employees when the minimum wage goes up.
User's recommendation: Don't get caught in Marshalls credit card scam you can save 20% without obtaining a credit card.
Masks Ruke not being enforced in my store even though it states to wear one
User's recommendation: Your employees must enforce rule if kick out!!!
